Work-release is a term commonly used in the criminal justice system to describe a program that allows inmates to work in the community while they are still serving their sentence. However, there are several other terms that can be used to describe the same or similar programs. These synonyms include community reentry programs, transitional employment opportunities, parole or probationary work programs, supervised release programs, and community service work.
